Lack of adhesion with tile - tile glued to the pool surface never has a 100% bond this will allow water to enter through the grout lines of the tiles and travels between the tiles and the pool surface where the water than stagnates and becomes acidic.
Once this happens the acid will start eating the cement that holds the tiles in place in severe cases will even eat the swimming pool structure as shown in the photos here.
