Ayara Surin

A resort pool in Surin that another contractor had left unfinished.

Our man skimming the pool after the surround was relaid, seen along the new walkway

Location: Surin, Phuket, Thailand
Completed: 2024
Type: Renovation
Our role: Finishing an abandoned job: cleaning and restarting the pool, the pool surround and the outer wall
Finish: PebbleCrete Classic French Grey · PebbleCrete Glass Teal Pearl
Applied by: Pebble Pools

The work behind the setting.

The pool interior was done by another contractor, who abandoned the job. We were asked to finish the work: we cleaned the pool down, relaid the surround, refinished the curved outer wall that carries it above the garden, and restarted the pool.

The old surround had lost its aggregate. Across the whole walkway the surface was pitted where stones had come away, and the failure ran right up to the pool edge. It was cut off in a strip along the curve and relaid in PebbleCrete Classic French Grey. The outer wall is PebbleCrete Glass Teal Pearl.

Sample images are illustrations. They give a general idea of colour, texture and particle size and show the finish wet; the sample triangle represents about 12 cm of surface. PebbleCrete is made from natural stone and glass and is applied by hand, so colour and the mix of particles vary from batch to batch and from pool to pool. Lighting, screens, water depth and surroundings also change how a finish looks. These images are not a substitute for a physical sample. Always confirm your choice with a current physical PebbleCrete sample, viewed wet. By agreement and at extra cost, we can make an on-site mock-up (test panel) before work starts for you to approve. The finished surface should be judged against the approved mock-up and physical sample, not against the images on this site.
