Private Residence, Bang Tao — failing mosaic replaced

A long villa pool at Bang Tao, taken out of its failing blue mosaic and refinished.

Private Residence, Bang Tao — the long pool towards the living room

Location: Bang Tao, Phuket, Thailand
Completed: 2020
Type: Renovation
Our role: Pool renovation: strip-out of the old mosaic, a new finish, a new system and a pump room raised out of the ground
Finish: PebbleCrete Classic Aquamarine
Applied by: Pebble Pools

The work behind the setting.

The small blue mosaic had started to lose tiles. It was chipped off the walls and the floor, the shell was rendered and prepared, and the new finish went down through the pool and the steps.

The pump room had been underground. As on the other villas of the complex, the equipment was brought up out of the ground into a new pump room, and the pool system was renewed.

Sample images are illustrations. They give a general idea of colour, texture and particle size and show the finish wet; the sample triangle represents about 12 cm of surface. PebbleCrete is made from natural stone and glass and is applied by hand, so colour and the mix of particles vary from batch to batch and from pool to pool. Lighting, screens, water depth and surroundings also change how a finish looks. These images are not a substitute for a physical sample. Always confirm your choice with a current physical PebbleCrete sample, viewed wet. By agreement and at extra cost, we can make an on-site mock-up (test panel) before work starts for you to approve. The finished surface should be judged against the approved mock-up and physical sample, not against the images on this site.
