The work behind the setting.

The small blue mosaic had failed badly. The pool was drained and stripped, and the shell was refinished in PebbleCrete Classic French Grey — several samples went to the owner before the colour was approved.

The water runs level with the edge, so the coping sits over the overflow channel. We made it ourselves as precast slabs reinforced with stainless steel, with a bullnose edge and narrow joints through which the water flows into the overflow beneath. The slabs carry people walking along the edge.

The finish runs through the pool and down the steps.

The pool system was reworked at the same time. New pumps were installed and raised to a higher level in the existing pump room, away from flood water. The sand filter was replaced, and a salt-water system and a UV steriliser were added. The sand filter is filled with PebblePure glass filter media.
