Private Residence, Bang Tao — new coping and a custom finish

A long villa pool at Bang Tao, taken out of its old blue mosaic and refinished in a custom blend.

Private Residence, Bang Tao — the long pool and its sun loungers

Location: Bang Tao, Phuket, Thailand
Completed: 2021
Type: Renovation
Our role: Pool renovation: strip-out, new coping, a custom finish, and a new filter, UV steriliser and pumps
Finish: Custom PebbleCrete
Applied by: Pebble Pools

The work behind the setting.

The small blue mosaic had failed badly. The pool was drained and stripped, a new coping was laid around the edge, and the shell was refinished in a custom PebbleCrete blend — several samples went to the owner before one was approved.

The finish runs through the pool and down the steps.

The pool system was reworked at the same time, with a new filter, a UV steriliser and new pumps.

Colours in this project

This project also uses a custom blend that is not in the standard range.

Sample images are illustrations. They give a general idea of colour, texture and particle size and show the finish wet; the sample triangle represents about 12 cm of surface. PebbleCrete is made from natural stone and glass and is applied by hand, so colour and the mix of particles vary from batch to batch and from pool to pool. Lighting, screens, water depth and surroundings also change how a finish looks. These images are not a substitute for a physical sample. Always confirm your choice with a current physical PebbleCrete sample, viewed wet. By agreement and at extra cost, we can make an on-site mock-up (test panel) before work starts for you to approve. The finished surface should be judged against the approved mock-up and physical sample, not against the images on this site.
