What we build
Display aquariums and live seafood tanks depend on the same things as pools and ponds: well-waterproofed structures, suitable linings and reliable circulation. This new service combines our waterproofing and plumbing work with long personal experience with aquariums within our team.
- Concrete aquariums with a front viewing panel, built into a feature wall, lounge or hotel lobby
- All-glass aquariums built to order for living spaces, reception areas and dining rooms
- Seafood holding systems for restaurants and hotels, from a single tank to multi-tier live-holding displays, designed for clear display and easy daily cleaning
Life support: filtration, cooling and aeration
Every tank needs a life-support system matched to its volume and its stock. We design and install it together with the tank, so they work as one system.
- Filtration: sumps, mechanical and biological filtration, protein skimmers and UV sterilisers, with quiet circulation pumps
- Cooling: chillers and insulated pipework to hold steady cold water for live seafood or sensitive marine species
- Aeration: a continuous air supply, with back-up power arrangements agreed with your electrician or engineer
- Water changes: incoming water filtration and floor drainage in the service area, so routine work stays clean and simple
How we organise the work
We agree floor loads, access to the viewing panel, ventilation for chillers and drainage with you, your architect or your kitchen engineer. An on-site inspection decides the installation sequence, and the programme is agreed for the individual project.
To refurbish or reline an existing concrete aquarium or seafood tank, the stock has to be moved out and the tank emptied first. Because this is a new direction, we have no published projects to show yet. We are happy to talk through your plans in detail.
What to send for a first discussion
Send us these details so we can review your space and discuss a custom build.
- Photos or drawings of the wall, room or kitchen area where the tank will sit, and the space available for filtration and chillers
- The property location in Phuket or elsewhere in Thailand
- The approximate tank size you have in mind
- What you want built: a concrete display aquarium, an all-glass aquarium or a seafood holding system
Questions we are asked
When is a concrete aquarium better than an all-glass tank?
A concrete tank with a front glass panel works well for a large display built into a wall, where it is seen from one side. An all-glass aquarium suits freestanding displays seen from several sides.
How do you keep seafood tanks cold in Thailand's climate?
We size the chiller for the water volume and the room, insulate the pipework and plan ventilation for the cooling equipment. The design is agreed for each system.
Can you look after the system once it is running?
Yes, ongoing care can be part of the service. We agree the scope after looking at the filtration, chillers and pumps, and at what your staff will handle.
