Splash pads, wet play areas and outdoor showers

Pebble Pools builds colourful splash pads and poolside outdoor showers for hotels, resorts and villas in Phuket and southern Thailand. We finish wet play floors and shower walls in PebbleCrete to match the pool surround.

Splash pads and wet play areas for resorts and villas

Families at resorts, beach clubs and residential developments want shallow, playful water zones where children can play without deep water. We build complete wet play areas and shallow splash pools with circulation and treatment.

  • Installing floor jets, water rings, spray mushrooms, animal fountains and tipping buckets with dedicated pumps and control valves
  • Building the water collection drains, balance tank, filtration and sanitation plant so recirculated play water stays clean
  • Finishing splash pads and shallow steps in multi-coloured standard or custom PebbleCrete zones for a seamless, slip-conscious surface without sharp tile edges
  • Anti-slip surface treatment for suitable steps, beach entries and poolside paths

Outdoor showers, shower columns and foot showers

Off-the-shelf metal shower stands often rust in coastal air, and painted walls peel beside a wet deck. We build and finish outdoor showers in the same PebbleCrete finish as your pool.

  • Constructing freestanding shower columns, straight or curved shower walls, rooftop showers and poolside foot showers
  • Finishing shower walls, floors and tap panels in matching or contrasting PebbleCrete stone-and-pebble finishes
  • Building concealed plumbing, drainage channels and surrounding stepping stones into the terrace

Draining, guest access and how we stage the work

For hotels and villas, we plan work around guest areas so facilities stay open wherever possible. An on-site inspection decides whether the main pool must be drained, and the programme is agreed for the individual project.

  • Pool stays in use: building or refinishing outdoor showers, foot showers, terrace anti-slip zones, or a standalone zero-depth splash pad with its own plant
  • Pool or splash zone must be drained: finishing a shallow splash pool that shares the main pool water, or resurfacing underwater steps and entries
  • Who decides what: we review play features, colour zones, balance tank space and shower positions with the owner, manager or resort engineer

What to send for a first discussion

Send us a few details so we can prepare ideas before visiting the property.

  • Photos of the proposed splash pad or shower location, or of the existing area to be upgraded
  • The property location and approximate dimensions of the play zone, pool or shower area
  • What you want changed, such as spray features, multi-coloured PebbleCrete zones or matching outdoor showers

Where we have done this

  • Sugar Marina Lagoon Splash Park — We installed multi-coloured PebbleCrete finishes across the resort splash pad and shallow stepped play areas.
  • Title Serenity, Nai Yang — We finished the zoned splash pool in custom PebbleCrete colours alongside the main pool steps and seating.
  • SAii Phi Phi — During the resort pool renovation, we finished the outdoor showers and tap panels in the same PebbleCrete finish as the pool.
  • Villa Tantawan Resort — Alongside the resort pool works, we finished the villa outdoor showers in a sand-toned PebbleCrete finish.

Questions we are asked

Where does the water go on a zero-depth splash pad?

Water sprayed onto the pad drains through collection channels into a dedicated balance tank. From there, it passes through a filter and sanitation system before being pumped back to the play features.

Can you match a new outdoor shower to our existing pool finish?

Yes, if your pool or deck is finished in PebbleCrete, we can finish the shower column, wall and tap panel in the same blend. If your pool is tiled, we help you choose a complementary stone tone from our range.

Can you make existing pool steps and walkways less slippery?

Yes, we apply a nearly transparent surface coat with fine glass aggregate that improves grip underfoot while changing the look of the surface very little. Poolside paths can be treated with the pool open, while underwater steps require the pool to be drained so the surface is completely dry.

Tell us where the pool is and what you want changed.
